Family tribute to Radcliffe pedestrian killed in collision
Tributes have been paid to a man who died after he was hit by a car.
Anthony Haughton, 55, was struck on Water Street in Radcliffe, Bury, at about 18:35 GMT on Thursday, Greater Manchester Police said.
His family described him as a loving son, father, grandfather and partner who was "taken too soon".
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death whilst uninsured and having failed a roadside drug test.
He has since been released under investigation, the force said.
Mr Haughton's family said: "We are still coming to terms with this devastating news.
"He overcame many obstacles in his life and had so much to look forward to watching his children grow up.
"His loss has left a hole in our lives and we will miss him forever."
The force has asked for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
