Man seriously hurt in Salford chemical explosion

A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was badly burned in a chemical explosion at an industrial estate.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was hurt in the blast on Tuesday morning at a site in Liverpool Road, Irlam, Salford.
Greater Manchester Police said the man's injuries were serious but not thought to be life-threatening.
The Health and Safety Executive said it was aware of the incident and is looking into it.
