Image released of man sought by police over racist graffiti
An image has been released of man police want to speak to over "far-right racist" graffiti in south-east London.
The Metropolitan Police is investigating graffiti in Eltham that it says "espouses far-right sentiment", made "over a period of around three years".
The force says the man is about 5ft 8in, of medium build and walks with "a distinctive gait".
It comes after four graffiti incidents were reported in December 2023.
The Met said the recent incidents took place in the early hours along Rochester Way where graffiti, which was racist in its nature, was daubed on public and private property.
'Significant distress'
Other incidents police are aware of involve graffiti made at locations in the Eltham Page, Eltham Park and Progress, and Eltham Town and Avery Hill wards.
The black and white image provided by detectives is blurry but appears to show a man wearing a hooded jacket.
Insp Kristina Money said: "I am hoping the image may resonate with someone who can assist in helping us establish who he is."
She added the person responsible for the graffiti, "has been active for a significant period of time" and has "caused significant distress in the local community".
The Met urged anyone who recognises the man pictured to contact police.
