Charlton: Murder probe launched as man dies three days after attack
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in south-east London, the Met has said.
Officers arrived at a residential property in Charlton to reports that a man and a woman had been assaulted on Wednesday at about 14:47 GMT.
While officers were arresting two suspects, the 58-year-old man became seriously ill. He was taken to hospital and died on Saturday.
Two men have been charged in connection with the incident.
Radoslaw Brzezicki, 41, of Erwood Road, Charlton, and Marius Bruzas, 49, of Longmoore Street, Westminster, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Friday - before the man's death.
They were charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Mr Brzezicki was also charged with actual bodily harm against the woman, who had suffered minor injuries, the Met said.
He was remanded in custody and Mr Bruzas was given bail.
A police spokesperson said they are treating Wednesday's alleged attack as an "isolated" incident.
They will appear again in court at a later date.
