Giant poppies will be painted on roundabouts in Lincolnshire to mark this weekend's Remembrance Day events.

As in previous years, ten roundabouts across the county will be sprayed with the iconic red and black flowers.

The work is being carried out for free by volunteer staff from one of the council's road contractors.

Lincolnshire County councillor Richard Davies said the gesture was "becoming something of an annual tradition in the run-up to Remembrance Day".

"It's a nice way for us to put something very visual across the county at this time of year for the right cause," he said.

"We always support the act of remembrance wherever possible and do what we can to show our appreciation for those who serve their country."

Sites include the A15 Sleaford Road and the Risholme and Gunby roundabouts.

The artworks will remain in place for the rest of November.
