Whetstone: Bungalow could be demolished for 23 homes
GoogleA bungalow in a Leicestershire village could be demolished to make way for 23 homes.
Developer MYPad Group is seeking permission from Blaby District Council to knock down the property in Springwell Lane, Whetstone.
Under the plans, a mix of 14 two-beds, seven three-beds and two four-bed homes would be built in place of the bungalow.
The developer said the site was in a "sustainable location".
According to the submission, 46 car parking spaces, which would all be off-street, either on driveways or "within close proximity" to the homes, are planned.
A new access road would be created off Springfield Lane into the development to create a new cul-de-sac, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
Two atlas cedar trees and a field maple would be retained, the developer added.
The council will decide on the application in due course. Residents can register their opinions on the scheme on the authority's planning portal until 26 March.
