Indie rockers Kasabian have announced a headline show at Victoria Park in their home city of Leicester.

The show on 6 July 2024 will be called Summer Solstice II, and will be held 10 years after the band's previous Summer Solstice show at the same park.

The venue recently hosted BBC Radio 2's biggest-ever live music event outside London.

Kaiser Chiefs will be a support act at the show, which will coincide with a new album release.

Kasabian said: "We are truly honoured to be playing Victoria Park in our beloved hometown, with all our people for Summer Solstice II.

"We cannot wait to get out there and play the biggest party of the summer with you all. See you in the mosh pit."

The band have had four UK top 10 singles and six UK number one albums

It will be the first time Kasabian have played a full concert at Victoria Park since 2014.

They previously performed a surprise set at the park during Leicester City's Premier League title celebrations in 2016.

Singer Tom Meighan was fronting Kasabian at the time, but he was ordered to leave the band after being charged with assaulting his former fiancee.

Kasabian are now Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter.

They released number one album The Alchemist's Euphoria in 2022 and their new album, Happenings, will be released next year.
