Ten people have been arrested over "large-scale" disorder in Wakefield city centre last October.

Police received reports of a fight outside a bar on Westgate, which had spilled into the road, on 28 October.

The disorder came after a football match earlier that day between Leeds United and Huddersfield Town.

West Yorkshire Police said that individuals involved in the fight had been at the game at Elland Road, before travelling to Wakefield by train.

An investigation has since resulted in suspects being identified, arrested and interviewed in connection with the incident.

The operation this week saw 10 people arrested and bailed with strict conditions.

Acting Det Sgt Jessica Arblaster said members of the public who witnessed the disorder "feared for their safety".

She said: "The focus of this investigation was to identify those who had been involved in this incident, either threatening towards others, or whom had been violent."

Det Sgt Arblaster added that West Yorkshire Police would be "seeking charges" for those involved.
