A person has been found dead after a fire at a terraced house spread to three other properties.

The blaze, which broke out at about 07:00 GMT in Queen Street, Whalley, led to the evacuation of nearby homes.

A body was discovered in the house after a search, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said.

It said it had launched a joint investigation with police into the cause of the fire and would remain at the scene to dampen down any hot spots.
