Arrest after armed police respond to incident in Snodland, Kent

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a firearm in Kent.

Police officers arrived at a property in Holborough Road, Snodland, at 14:35 GMT after a report of an assault.

The man was reported to have acted in an aggressive and threatening manner towards officers, who required support from armed patrols, police said.

At about 20:10 the man exited the property and was arrested, Kent Police said.

Officers seized an air weapon from inside the address, it added.

The force said inquiries into an assault and subsequent alleged offences were ongoing.
