A British man who went missing in Kent more than three months ago has been found dead in the Netherlands.

The disappearance of 22-year-old Liam Graham on 22 July from Lower Stoke in Medway prompted extensive searches over several weeks.

Kent Police said it was contacted by the Dutch authorities on Monday stating they had recovered the body of a man.

The following day it was confirmed to be that of Mr Graham, a force spokesperson said.

His family have been informed. Kent Police said officers were now working with Dutch authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

Mr Graham was last seen just before 00:10 BST on Stoke Road, between Lower Stoke and Hoo, Kent.

His family believe he walked off after suffering a head injury in a car crash with friends.

At the time, officers spent 10 days searching two miles of the Hoo Peninsula, using drones, sniffer dogs, a helicopter and the force's search and marine unit.

Then in October the discovery of his wallet on farmland close to where he vanished prompted a fresh police search.
