Rudston: Woman dies and driver arrested after road crash

A 70-year-old woman has died and a man has been arrested after a car crash in East Yorkshire.

A grey Audi A6 and a red Volkswagen T-Roc crashed on the B1253 at about 15:00 GMT on Friday, Humberside Police said.

The woman died at the scene, with two injured men taken to hospital after the crash at the crossroad junction of High Street and Burton Road near Rudston.

A male driver was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, the force said.

The arrested man remains in custody, it added, with those who witnessed the collision asked to contact police using 101.
