BBC We Were There: Man recalls Arctic Convoys of WW2
Able Seaman Albert Malin was 18 when he served the Royal Navy in the Arctic Convoys.
The 96-year-old, from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, took part in three convoys which delivered vital war supplies to Russia during the Second World War.
We Were There aims to collect as many first-hand accounts as possible by 2025, the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two, to preserve veterans' memories for future generations.
The BBC is working on the project with a number of partners including the Normandy Memorial Trust and Royal British Legion. Some of the stories collected may be shared with our partners and used on BBC News platforms.
