Bordon: Passengers flee burning double-decker bus

Passengers have fled a double-decker bus which was destroyed by fire on a main road.

Fire crews from four stations were sent at 14:20 BST to Camp Road in Bordon, Hampshire.

Posting on social media, Bordon firefighters said they found the vehicle fully alight but all of the passengers were safe.

Passing motorist Bryann Chandlers said flames consumed the bus within two minutes of the fire starting.

The double-decker bus was completely destroyed

He said: "I could see fire dripping from the engine oil after the sump hit the middle of the road.

"There were about 20 people on the bus. Some schoolchildren from Farnham. I was waving at them to get off."

A large explosion and a plume of black smoke were captured in videos and photographs posted by witnesses on Facebook.
