Florence Pugh has promised to take fellow actress Zendaya on a hovercraft to the Isle of Wight.

The Hollywood A-Listers were discussing "the closest things we get to dunes in the UK" ahead of the release of their sci-fi sequel, Dune: Part Two.

Speaking to Kiss FM, Oxford-born Pugh recommended the pair take a trip to the beach at Bembridge.

She suggested they take the Hovertravel ferry across to the island, which departs from Portsmouth.

Bembridge, which is located on the easternmost point of the Isle of Wight, has a pebbly beach made up of stones and shells.

"There are all these dunes that are right behind the beach and it's really cool and weird and beautiful," Pugh told the Spider-Man star.

Recounting a visit to the island, Pugh went on: "Bembridge has this old mini golf course that Queen Victoria gave to the people and it's now overgrown so there are all these dunes."

It is believed the actress is referring to the Royal Isle of Wight Golf Club at nearby St Helens Duver, which became defunct in 1961, according to the National Trust.

"We could go on the hovercraft - it takes like a few minutes to get across," she suggested to Zendaya.

Hovertravel, which runs half-hourly ferries between Portsmouth and Ryde, confirmed the service takes about 10 minutes.

Loretta Lale, head of commercial at the ferry company, said: "It was lovely to see two amazing A-list actors showing their excitement about our hovercraft and as well as looking forward to possibly seeing them onboard soon, we also welcome anyone who wants to fly over to see some sand dunes."

Abbie Wade from Wight Knuckle Brewery said she had grown up in Bembridge - and was more than happy to give the celebrities a tour of the village and beach, should they visit.
