Portsmouth-Fishbourne ferry delays after fuel tanker fire near terminal

Passengers faced lengthy delays after a fire involving a fuel tanker blocked a road near a ferry terminal.
The brakes and tyres of the tanker, which was carrying about 40,000 litres of kerosene, caught fire on Gunwharf Road, Portsmouth, at about 04:00 GMT.
Wightlink travellers between Portsmouth and Fishbourne, Isle of Wight, faced two-hour delays. Ferries have since returned to timetable.
The fire service said the fire was put out quickly and the tanker cooled.
The tanker reached a safe temperature shortly after 08:00 and was awaiting recovery from Gunwharf Road, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service said.
Wightlink said: "We would like to apologise for any changes to your travel plans."
