New Forest: Horse rescued from ditch using hydraulic arm
A horse has been rescued from a ditch in the New Forest after becoming stuck.
Fire crews were called to Bramshaw at 08:30 GMT on Thursday to find Ginny the horse trapped under a tree.
Eastleigh firefighters removed the tree using a chainsaw, before animal rescue teams from Winchester and Poole helped to winch her out using a hydraulic arm.
Rescuing the 19-year-old horse took several hours, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said.
The team worked closely with a vet to ensure Ginny's welfare during the rescue.
The fire service said she was safely back on all fours and in the care of her owner.
