Cuckooing: Drug dealers target the vulnerable

Police in the South of England have revealed there is an increase in so-called cuckooing - where drug dealers take over the homes of vulnerable people in exchange for free drugs.

According to the HM Courts and Tribunal Service there have been 187 convictions of gang members linked to cuckooing in the region since 2015.

Officers say they are "continuing to pursue" criminal networks as gangs are known to be moving into homes in Hampshire, Dorset, Oxford and Berkshire.
