Cannabis farm near Clacton sniffed out by power workers
Police officers have seized some 120 cannabis plants found growing in an outhouse.
Essex Police said it was called to an address at Point Clear, near Clacton-on-Sea, on Monday.
Power workers had raised concerns about the smell of cannabis outside the property on Lee Wick Lane.
Officers accessed the building and found a cannabis farm inside, consisting of the plants and associated cultivation equipment.
Work to dismantle the operation and seize evidence was ongoing, police said.
Insp Aaron Homatopoulos said officers prevented a "significant amount" of the Class B drug from reaching the streets.
"The illegal drugs trade brings misery and deprivation for those involved at the lower end of the supply chain," he said.
"It also causes huge issues for the law-abiding community left to deal with the impact of the anti-social behaviour and violence so often associated with drug dealing."
