Essex lorry deaths: Haulier denies role in migrant smuggling plot

A haulier has denied involvement in a plot to smuggle migrants which emerged after 39 Vietnamese migrants were found dead in a trailer in Essex.
Caolan Gormley, 23, of Kedew Road in Caledon, County Tyrone, pleaded not guilty to a single charge of conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration.
The Old Bailey was told Mr Gormley was accused of taking part in a conspiracy between 1 May 2018 and 24 October 2019.
He is due to stand trial next year.
