Exmouth PCSOs to meet members of new youth club
A pair of Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be speaking to youth club members about their work.
Colin Balch and Karen Capey will visit the newly formed TOAST club at the Open Door community centre in Exmouth on Tuesday.
The duo will talk to secondary and college students and listen to any concerns raised by them.
The visit will be part of Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, which aims to highlight work done by local officers.
Ms Capey said: "We will explain to the youngsters about our role and give out freebies such as the INSIGHTZ fobs which have been designed by young people with no police logos attached - this was done in mind to deter their peers from making fun of them.
"If they scan the QR code it will take them to the Devon and Cornwall Police youth website which gives them advice and guidance on how to stay safe, as well as information about other issues including drugs and sexual exploitation."
TOAST sessions, which have been organised by the Open Door charity, will be held at the cafe on Church Street from 15:30 to 17:30 GMT every Tuesday and Thursday during term time.
