A 4x4 vehicle has been destroyed by fire and smoke in Devon, the fire service has said.

Devon & Somerset Fire Service received reports of a vehicle on fire on Chineway Hill in Ottery St Mary shortly before 19:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Crews were sent from Ottery St Mary and Honiton fire stations to deal with the blaze.

Once the vehicle fire was out and the scene was handed over to the Highways Agency.

No-one was hurt or needed to be rescued from the vehicle, the fire service said.
