Salcombe hotel doors burst open as waves crash in
Huge waves smashed open the doors of a south Devon hotel, swamping the inside with sea water.
Storm Ciarán brought chaos to the South Sands Hotel in Salcombe on Thursday when sea-facing doors were blown off their hinges by the force of the waves.
A balcony was also partially destroyed as the storm swept through.
The hotel's owner said it was the worst damage he had seen in 14 years.
