A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash between a lorry and a car.

The Scania HGV and Mercedes car crashed on the A47 at Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire, at about 14:00 GMT on Wednesday.

A passenger in the car - a man from Birmingham - was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance, while the driver, also from Birmingham, sustained minor injuries.

The lorry driver, from Glasgow, who was uninjured, has been arrested.

The 56-year-old is being questioned on suspicion of drug driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and possession of cannabis.

Police have appealed for anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch with the investigation team.
