We The Curious in Bristol evacuated due to fire

Bristol's We The Curious evacuated after roof catches fire

A city centre science museum had to be evacuated after its roof caught fire.

Fire crews were called to We The Curious in Millennium Square, Bristol, at about 14:00 BST.

Nearby buildings were evacuated and a number of road closures were put in place, including Anchor Road.

About 35 firefighters tackled the blaze, which is thought to have started in the museum's roof space. An investigation is being carried out into the cause of the fire.

Avon Fire and Rescue said it would carry out a joint investigation with the police once the site had been made completely safe.

A number of specialist appliances and five fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze.
