Car crash baby death: Parents pay tribute to two-week-old hit by car
The parents of a two-week old baby who died when a car hit his pram have paid tribute to their son.
Ciaran Leigh Morris was with family members on High Street, Brownhills, West Midlands, on Sunday afternoon when the car mounted the pavement.
On Monday, his parents said: "Mommy's and Daddy's hearts will always ache, we love you more than anything."
A 34-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
West Midlands Police said a BMW was involved in a crash with another car on High Street, at about 16:00 BST, before hitting the pram.
The driver left the scene, but a man was arrested in Bloxwich a short while later.
Ciaran's parents, who issued a tribute through the force, added: "We didn't get to keep you for long but we are happy we had the chance to meet you, look after you and call you our son. Fly high angel."
A relative suffered a shoulder injury, but no-one else was hurt.
Sgt Mark Crozier, from the force's serious collision investigation unit, said: "We've all been left numb by the sad death of Ciaran. He was just two-weeks-old and his life has been tragically taken away.
"To see the loss of someone so young is difficult for us as officers, but we know the pain is even greater for Ciaran's family.
"We'll be doing all we can to support them while also trying to establish what happened."
Sgt Crozier said he understood the baby's death would cause shock in the community.
Flowers, toys and tributes have been left at the scene, where damage to a brick wall can be seen.
A passenger from the BMW and the occupants of the other vehicle are helping with the investigation.
Police said they were keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have dashcam footage.
