A fatal stabbing victim "left to die in the street" in Solihull has been named.

Callum Lees, 20, was stabbed in the neck following a row at a flat in Kingshurst, police said. He was found by a passer-by collapsed in Haselour Road just after 10:00 BST on Sunday and died in hospital later that day.

Police suspect the victim knew his attacker and that a group of people had been drinking in the flat at the time.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Det Insp Jim Munro said: "A young man has lost his life in awful circumstances and been left to die in the street.

"We suspect the victim knew his attacker and efforts are well under way to find the person responsible.

"Our inquiries suggest that a group of people were drinking in the flat at the time.

"They need to call me immediately so we can understand exactly what happened and eliminate them from our inquiries."

In a statement, Mr Lees' family described him as "a beautiful, caring, kind soul who was much loved".

They said: "Everyone who knew him only had good words to say.

"Our world has been shattered and will never be the same again. We love you Callum."
