CCTV shows fire developing at Reading recycling centre
CCTV footage has been released of a fire which quickly took hold at a recycling centre.
The blaze at the Smallmead site was caused by a discarded battery, Reading Borough Council said.
It said damage to the building was estimated at £20,000.
The blaze on 9 October was the ninth there so far this year, the authority reported.
It has urged people to avoid throwing electrical items such as toothbrushes and vapes into bins.
