West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner election 2021: The candidates standing

Elections will be held for the post of West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner on 6 May.

Votes will be counted in the Shropshire, Telford, Worcestershire and Herefordshire local authority areas.

This election was originally meant to take place in May 2020, with the winner to serve a four-year term, but was postponed due to the pandemic.

These are the candidates who have said they intend to stand for election this year (listed alphabetically):

John Campion was elected the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner in 2016 and is a former leader of Wyre Forest District Council. He has also worked for HM Prisons Service in a high security prison.

Peter Jewell is a former tribunal judge and magistrate who stood for UKIP in the 2016 Police and Crime Commissioner elections. He has a legal practice in Worcestershire and served on the board of Worcestershire Cricket Club.

Margaret Rowley is the leader of the Liberal Democrats group on Wychavon District Council and was the party's candidate for West Mercia PCC in 2016.

Kuldip Sahota is a former leader of Telford and Wrekin Council and chaired the Telford and Wrekin Police Board.
