'Period poverty led me to become homeless'

Stevie-Jo Pasing's family could not afford to buy her sanitary products during her school years.

She used to skip class out of embarrassment, which she says was a key factor in her later becoming homeless.

New research conducted on behalf of Always suggests women who experienced period poverty as girls are more likely to suffer from anxiety or depression as adults.

Its previous research, in March 2018, suggested more than 137,000 girls had missed school in the last year because they could not afford sanitary products.
