Two new artificial grass pitches will replace one currently at the site on Sutton Lawn.

Kirkby-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire is one of many "left behind" areas getting government cash.

Ashfield District Council will lease the premises to West Notts College.

The council says it will cost £7,000 to replace the damaged devices.

The news comes after a report said the council had a "healthy" level of reserves.

The government has decided not to review an application for the approved scheme.

The proposed site is near a Historic England scheduled monument, a planning report says.
