The Hong Kong airline was forced to turn a flight around after an engine problem.

The Airbus A350-1000's Trent XWB-97 engines were made by UK-based engineering giant Rolls-Royce.

The firm says the combined aircraft and engines will reduce emissions by 14%.

The incident apparently took place on a Sunday flight from the Chinese city of Chengdu to Hong Kong.

The airline warned of further losses after Hong Kong tightened aircrew quarantine rules again.

If convicted, the two former flight attendants could face up to six months in prison.

The announcement comes after the city tightened its coronavirus quarantine regulations for aircrew.

One Cathay Pacific pilot said he had spent almost 150 days in quarantine this year alone.
