England moor fires

Three fire crews remain at the scene on Marsden Moor, West Yorkshire Fire Service says.

Hundreds of acres of land were destroyed in the fire in the Goyt Valley.

Eighteen fire crews are currently in attendance at the scene near Oldham Road in Ripponden.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service says it is "better prepared" to tackle moorland fires.

A new three-year Public Space Protection Order could be introduced on large swathes of moorland.

Cause of moorland fire at Marsden not yet known, says fire service.

The fire service says crews from six stations were sent to the scene near Holmfirth.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service says crews are working hard to tackle the blaze near Meltham.
