Two fatal accident inquiries have been held this year into the deaths of three young in Polmont Young Offenders Institution.

Jonathan Beadle, 17,  is understood to have taken his own life at the facility on Saturday.

The boy, who took his own life, was in the facility years after the government pledged to stop sending under-18s to Polmont.

A fatal accident inquiry is being held into the death of Jack McKenzie, 20, at Polmont in 2021.

William Brown took his own life in jail at the age of 16 despite never having been convicted of a crime.

Katie Allan and William Brown, also known as William Lindsay, were both found dead in their cells in 2018.

Polmont YOI prison officer Natalie Cameron said she did not see information sent over from social workers.
