The Scottish government is looking at giving local councils powers to charge taxes on cruise ships.

The number of staying visitors to Guernsey increased, according to annual tourism survey.

It is hoped the investment will see more cruises start and finish in Belfast rather than just calling for the day.

Guernsey Ports says about 20% of scheduled cruise ships had to cancel their visit.

The ferry company has used Portsmouth's port since it started operating in 1976.
