Harris McCutcheon, 17, is representing Scotland on a new Butterfly Conservation panel.

The charity has created the 850-metre boundary to keep cows and sheep grazing for a perfect habitat.

Volunteers are planting marsh violets on Norbury Hill, to save a rare butterfly species.

Planting sessions will take place at Humber Bridge Country Park, in Hessle, from 26 to 28 October.

The planning application states the design would help attract bees and butterflies.

The planning inspectorate says there is "visual harm" from the vehicle storage.

The butterflies are making a comeback in Cumbria, where they were declared extinct in 2004.
