A month's rainfall could fall in one day as very wet weather is forecast for north-west Scotland.

Ferry operator CalMac has apologised for disruption and appealed for patience from customers.

CalMac's MV Hebrides has been taken out of service to have repairs done to its firefighting system.

It was later found to be a false alarm but it led to a delay of CalMac's Uig-Lochmaddy service.
