More than 50,000 Palestinians have been killed during Israel's military campaign in Gaza, the Hamas-run health ministry says.

Salah al-Bardaweel and his wife died in the southern city of Khan Younis, a Hamas source told the BBC.

Lebanon's health ministry says seven people, including a child, were killed and 40 injured.

The defence minister says the IDF will increase the intensity of its operation in Gaza until Hamas releases hostages.

Benjamin Netanyahu cited Shin Bet's failure to anticipate the 7 October attack - but the move sparked outrage and protests.

It comes after Israel resumes its bombing campaign and ground operations in Gaza.

A ballistic missile was fired toward Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, with sirens sounding in several areas of Israel.

The 51-year-old was injured in a blast which killed a UN worker, the charity he works for says.
