A former Girlguiding activity centre in the New Forest is preparing to reopen thanks to volunteers.

Campaigners raise more than £4m in 18 months to buy Foxlease in the New Forest.

Repairs include a new fire door, garage roof and insulation inside the 50 year-old building's hall.

The three volunteers are attending the red carpet awards ceremony in London's Leicester Square.

Danielle Watson has been involved with Girlguiding for more than half of her life.

Foxlease in the New Forest hosted the first Girlguiding world camp in 1924.

The display in Epsom town centre will depict significant women from the area, the council says.

"We are here and really happy to be here," scout leader Antonia Prudko says.
