A fundraising drive for a Terry Jones memorial statue in Colwyn Bay nears its £100,000 target.

A fundraising campaign has been launched for a statue of Jones in his hometown of Colwyn Bay.

The Monty Python star and his son are offering to show a group around Sheerness Dockyard Church.

The comedy legend will receive the degree at a ceremony in June, alongside five other recipients.

Eric Idle told fans on social media that Monty Python was a financial "disaster".

Andy Mutter said the challenge at Corfe Castle was also to mark St George's Day.

The Fawlty Towers star will appear on the network alongside satirist Andrew Doyle from next year.
