Former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas has won Dancing on Ice alongside his professional partner Amani Fancy.

Thomas dedicated his trophy to former Olympic athlete Greg Rutherford, who was forced to pull out of Sunday's final after sustaining an injury in rehearsals.

Rutherford, 37, said he was "devastated" to miss out, adding it was a "nightmare way for this to finish".

His show partner, Vanessa James, said he was being taken to hospital.

"We will be helping to support Greg and wish him well with his recovery. We also want to thank him for being such a treasured member of the Dancing on Ice family," the broadcaster added.

After being crowned winner, Thomas said: "Listen Greg, if you're watching this at home, this trophy is for you mate."

Also competing in the final was Miles Nazaire, from Made In Chelsea, who finished in second place, and former BBC Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts who finished third.

Before the final, Nazaire paid tribute to former long jumper Rutherford on Instagram writing: "Not the same without you brother! Time to recover love you".

Rutherford, from Woburn Sands, won a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games and a bronze at Rio de Janeiro in 2016. He retired from the sport in 2018 because of an ankle injury.
