A Wetherspoon pub is once again preparing to host an opera inside its Grade II listed building.

Die Fledermaus will be performed at the Opera House in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, on 16 February.

The building, which opened in 1902, was originally constructed to be an opera house and performances have taken place at the pub for the past 20 years.

The site became a cinema in 1931 and then a bingo hall nearly 40 years later, before converting to a pub in 1996.

Die Fledermaus will be performed by The Merry Opera Company at 14:00 GMT and 19:30.

It will be the 15th year running that the company has performed at the pub.

The show is also being brought to London, Surrey and Norfolk by the Chiddingstone-based company.
