Five nights of closures are needed on part of the inner ring road from 3 March

A flyover on Leicester's inner ring road will shut for five consecutive nights.

Drivers will be diverted away from Burleys Way Flyover nightly from 20:00 to 06:00 GMT from Monday 3 March to Friday.

Leicester City Council said damaged bridge safety barriers needed to be replaced as well as "essential maintenance" carried out.

A diversion will be signposted along Burleys Way and St Matthews Way.

The £24,000 work will see drainage channels cleared, minor road repairs carried out and road markings "refreshed", said the council.

It added work is being done overnight "to help minimise disruption to traffic on this busy route".
