An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old at this summer's TRNSMT festival in Glasgow.

Police issued a public appeal after the boy was left with serious injuries in hospital after an attack at the Glasgow Green site on Saturday 13 July.

In total 40 people were arrested over the three-day music festival.

The 18-year-old is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Det Insp Willie Downie said: “We would like to thank members of the public and partners who assisted with our investigation.”

Around 50,000 people attended each day of the festival, which featured headline sets from Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris.
