Council careers service opens town centre hub
A new careers hub has opened in Redditch to support young jobseekers.
The town centre base in Heart of Worcestershire College, on Peakman Street, has been funded by government levelling up money.
Worcestershire County Council said Careers Worcestershire would provide employment, education, training and wellbeing advice to people aged 16 to 24.
The council's cabinet member for economy and skills, Adam Kent, said: "I am confident it will make a significant positive impact on the lives of many across our county."
Judy Gibbs, the council's head of skills and investment, said they were working with the Department for Work and Pensions and other training providers.
"It allows us to help even more young people across the county, especially those who are not currently in education, employment, or training, to achieve their goals," she added.
Mr Kent said the service would empower users and give them "the tools and support they need to succeed".
The county-wide careers service launched in 2022 with the opening of a hub in The Hive in Worcester.
