Groups sought to take on new community centre
Local groups and organisations have been asked to come forward to run a new community centre.
Wokingham Borough Council said it wanted to see the centre at Matthewsgreen used for a range of events and activities, which would benefit the local neighbourhood.
Built next door to St Cecelia's Church of England Primary School, the centre has halls, offices, a kitchen and a toilet with changing facilities.
Applications must be submitted to the council by 25 October.
The authority said it hoped the new community centre would become "a vibrant and welcoming hub".
Rachel Bishop-Firth, executive member for resident services, inclusion and fighting poverty, said it was an opportunity for the council to work with an organisation "to help shape a vision for this fantastic space".
She said: "We want someone who is passionate about their community to help turn this into something which will be a true hub for the local area and can't wait to hear from groups about their ideas for using the space."
Wokingham Borough Council said the centre was created through an agreement with developers behind new housing built nearby.
