The QEII Bridge at the Dartford Crossing has reopened after originally being closed due to strong winds from Storm Darragh.

Southbound traffic on the A282 was being diverted through the east bore tunnel, while northbound journeys had a height restriction of 4'8m on the west bore tunnel diversion.

Shortly before 14:30 GMT, National Highways said the southbound bridge had reopened.

National Highways warned that there were still 30 minute delays on the southbound road, and delays of an hour on the northbound carriageway.

Meanwhile, the Dover Traffic Access Protocol (TAP) scheme was put in place on the A20 due to heavy traffic on Saturday, said Kent Highways.

Ferry operator DFDS cancelled four services from Dover to Calais and three on the return route due to "adverse weather".

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind in the South East until Sunday, while areas in the South West and Wales have been given a red warning.
