Larger integrated sexual health clinic set to open
Sexual health services on the Isle of Man are being relocated to a larger site to cater for a growing demand and make the clinic more accessible, Manx Care has said.
The integrated sexual health team remains accessible by telephone while the move to a new location on Kensington Road in Douglas takes place.
All the services, which had previously been offered at several different locations, will reopen at the integrated site next Tuesday.
The new clinic will incorporate a fully integrated service, including contraception options, testing and the management and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections.
The clinic has been closed while the services are relocated to a central location, but the team members are still accessible by telephone throughout the period.
Lead nurse for integrated sexual health services Amanda Dawson said the new, larger space offered more clinical rooms "to address the demands of our ever-growing service".
It was also "more suitable" for service needs and the location was "more accessible for our patients", she said.
Patients had been informed by staff in the lead-up to the move and signage had been put in place highlighting the temporary closure and location change, Manx Care said.
