Lorry catches fire on road in north Devon

Firefighters have extinguished a large lorry fire in north Devon.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire broke out at about 08:20 BST on the A361 North Devon Link Road at the Landkey roundabout near Barnstaple.

Two crews from Barnstaple and South Molton fire stations were in attendance, as well as a water pump, firefighters said.

Crews were working to prevent fuel from leaking on to the road and drivers were urged to avoid the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police said road closures were in place and there were no reports of any injuries.
