Passengers arriving for early flights will be affected by the works

East Midlands Airport (EMA) has advised passengers to leave extra time for their journeys next week due to a road closure.

The A453 Ashby Road, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, will be shut on weekdays from 20:00 GMT to 06:00 from 11-19 November.

National Highways is putting the closure in place between Pegasus and Finger Farm for street lighting works and highway maintenance.

A spokesperson for EMA said it will will affect customers arriving for early flights and involve a large diversion.

The spokesperson added: "We’re aware of works scheduled to take place on the A453 near the airport that could impact customers travelling to catch early flights on weekdays from November 11 to 19.

"We understand that while works are underway there will be no access to the airport for vehicles approaching from the roundabout near Donington Moto Services.

"A signed diversion will be in place and so we advise customers to allow extra time for their journeys.”

More information about the closure, and the diversion route can be found on the One Network website.
